Scarf Bombing Ministry is Back

Do you knit or crochet or sew? Can you cut long strips of flannel? Do you enjoy helping people? If you answered yes to any of these questions, scarf bombing may be the answer you’re looking for!

Simply put, scarf bombing occurs when groups or individuals make scarves, hats, or mittens and put them in public places (in our case, the railing at the front entrance to the church) to be adopted by anyone who needs them. Our scarf bombing ministry began last February, and in just two months, we provided over 75 scarves to folks who needed help keeping warm. We paused at the end of March when the weather warmed up, but many faithful crafters continued making scarves throughout the summer.

This great supply got us started again last month, and we’ve given out about 25 scarves in just two weeks. Our summer supply is getting low, and the weather is getting colder, so we need help! If you would like to make scarves, hats, or mittens, just drop them off in the church office and I will tag them and keep our railing stocked. Our goal is to provide scarves continually through March, so we will need many. We have a great supply of yarn provided by the UWIF, so if you need yarn to get started, just ask.
