Youth Ministry

We Are the Church...

So Come Join Us!

Because YOU Are Welcome Here

Some of our awesome youth!

What's Going on?

The First United Methodist Church of Olympia is committed to providing young people
a place where they feel free to develop and express their faith through friendship, service and learning

Youth Group

For 6th-12th graders.
Youth Group gathers regularly for prayer,
friendship, learning, and service.

Mini Methodists

For 4th-5th graders.
These youth gather at the same
time/location as Youth Group with dedicated
 adults and age-appropriate activities.
Mini Methodists and Youth Group strive to be a brave space, open to young people of all gender and sexual
identities, ethnicities, and social economic status. (Written by our MM & YG participants).

Fall CALENDAR

FOR MINI METHODISTS & YOUTH GROUP

In youth ministry, we believe that "nothing without us is for us." Our youth shape their experience of youth ministry each year with the support of the adult youth ministry team. At our recent kick off event the youth decided that for this year we will:

Meet monthly for fellowship (Minis & Youth)
Participate in service projects together (Minis & Youth)
Meet monthly for dinner & Bible study (Youth)
Confirmation Journey (9th - 12th grade)
2023 Summer Mission Trips (Minis & Youth)
Check back for the full calendar at the beginning of October or join the mailing list

Summer Camps

Do you have children or teens in your household who would like
to go to UMC camp in the summer?

Check out all the details here! Scholarships are available
through the church and our annual conference

Youth Mission Trip

Serving our neighbors is a commitment of our youth ministry! Developing the spiritual practice of serving others in adolescence prepares our minds, hearts and hands to continue a life of service as adults.  We are aiming for a mission trip in summer 2023 - more details to come!
