Sunday Worship In-person and Streamed Online at 10am

A Message From Miss Brittney

Greetings Friends, some of you may have heard by now that I had surgery on Wednesday, May 14th and will be on medical leave until June 8th.

In my absence, there is an incredible team of 15+ volunteers making sure things continue to run smoothly. From Time With Young Disciples to Children’s Choir to Club345 and everything in between, there are people taking incredible care of our children. Thank you, thank you, thank you to those of you who have stepped up to serve in this way!! Your support is a gift and allows me to take the time to rest and recover that I will need.

It was incredibly important to me that I be the one to share this news with the children within our Kaleidoscope Kids children’s ministry about my medical leave. On Sunday, I sat with each class and explained to them that I will be gone for a little while because I am going to a doctor to help me feel better. They were incredibly kind and loving, offering prayers and well wishes for a speedy recovery. This time also allowed me to answer their questions and calm their worries about what would happen while I am away. It was such a sacred moment and revealed to me just how deep the faith of our children runs.

Our project for the day was to make a “Flat Jesus” a spin off of the beloved children’s book Flat Stanley; where a young boy is flattened and uses his new body to travel by mail all around the world to see incredible sights and experiences.

I told the children that while I am away, their grownups can send me pictures of them with their Flat Jesus so it can be as though I am experiencing all these things with them. There will be a Flat Jesus at church on Sunday that the kids will walk in with to remind them that while I’m away, Jesus is always with them.

I welcome your prayers as I recover at home and your patience for the youngest among us who may feel a little out of the routine while I’m away. I know that they are in capable hands but change can be hard for our children. I look forward to worshipping online with you all and will be available by phone from now until the 8th of June. Please feel free to send pictures and stories of the children while I am away. I am missing them already!
