Adult Faith Formation

Learning Through Community

One of the ways we grow in our relationship with Jesus, our church family and our neighboring community is through intentional learning and dialogue.
The Discipleship Ministries Team visions and plans opportunities that encourage all church members to engage in faithful study of the Scriptures, our United Methodist traditions, how to live in the world as followers of Jesus and how to live in right relationship with one another.

Current Offerings

Anti Racist Film Club
This group meets monthly on the first Thursday of the month on Zoom to explore films made by BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) artists that center the stories and experiences of BIPOC individuals. A screening of the film is offered (though you can choose to watch the movies on your own) followed by an hour of discussion. Past films have included: Just Mercy, Persepolis, Akeelah and the Bee, Barbershop, Coco, Real Women Have Curves, Saving Face and more. To be added to the mailing list, contact Lauren Fontanilla. If you're not able to join us you can also checkout the ARFC podcast where we also discuss the month's film.

Affinity Nights
Affinity Nights happen seasonally during the year and always include a Bible study or spiritual book study option. You can see the current schedule on the fellowship groups page.
