Get Ready for Trunk or Treat
Trunk or Treat 2023 is right around the corner (Saturday, October 21) and planning is already underway! We’re dreaming big this year and that means we need all hands on deck to make this event a huge success! If you are a numbers person and enjoy seeing how many people it takes to put on an event of this size, these stats are for you! Here is the need:
So, we estimate that we will need about 65ish people to make this happen! I know that seems like a lot but I know that this will be an incredible evening for our community. Invitations have been sent out via Nextdoor to around 2,000 people, it has been shared in community groups on Facebook, and Instagram! It’s already getting a lot of exposure and I know it has the potential to be a huge success. However, none of this is possible without the help of people like you! If any of these areas speak to you, please fill out this form: https://fumcoly.breezechms.com/form/7dd8e6 and I will be in contact with you soon. Thank you so much for volunteering your time, talents and gifts with the children and families of our community!
We also need LOTS of candy for the event! If you're willing to donate to this delicious cause, please drop off candy in the church office on Sunday mornings or during normal office hours. We'd really appreciate it!
- 20 cars/trucks/SUVs/Motorcycles/etc. decorated and passing out candy in the upper parking lot
- 2-5 people to manage sidewalk chalk/games for younger children
- 2-5 people to manage pumpkin games in the lower parking lot
- 2-5 people to help be the face of the ministries of FUMCO at an information table
- 5 people to can be present to be safety and security during the event. (Point people if there is a need for medical attention or a child gets separated from their grownup)
- 2-5 people to be down in the food truck area to help with keeping it clean (make sure garbage is tossed and there’s clean space for the next group to sit)
- 2 people to sit by the fire and help kids roast marshmallows for s’mores
- 10-15 people who can help set up starting at 3pm and help clean up starting at 7:30pm
