Lay Servant Ministries
The United Methodist Church has a long history of being served by both ordained clergy and lay people. From the beginning, lay people have been involved in preaching, leading, offering care, teaching, and organizing the life of the church.
In recognition of the gifts that lay people bring to the life of the church, the United Methodist Church offers training and certification for lay people who want to learn more and engage regularly in specific tasks of ministry such as preaching. All training is offered via Zoom and the next round of classes start in September.
