Pastor Kellen's Introduction
First Church!
My name is Kellen Corliss (he/him), and I am so excited to be joining this community as your Visitation Pastor. Beyond that, my wife, Victoria, and I are so excited to return to the Pacific Northwest and grow into a new community, just thirty miles south of where we grew up in Gig Harbor. My church community has always been a sort of home for me. I am deeply warmed to know that I now have two: First United Methodist and Tumwater!
Before moving to the South Sound, I was finishing my degree at Boston University School of theology. New England was a great place to explore and learn while in seminary (even if it was during a global pandemic). If you want any tourist advice before a trip, don’t hesitate to ask. Before Boston, I was working and schooling in Bellingham at Western Washington University.
On our days off, you will probably find Victoria and me driving out of town towards a mountain or a body of water. We both are avid outdoors people, enjoying rock climbing, fishing, biking, skiing and hiking. If we aren’t doing one of these, we’re probably watching a show together or visiting family.
I am deeply honored and energized to walk alongside First Church as we live as disciples and transform the world together. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any pastoral needs; I look forward to meeting you all soon.
