Sunday Worship In-person and Streamed Online at 10am

Anti-Racist Film Club

After our Summer break, we are happy to announce that Anti-Racist Film Club is coming back for our 2023-2024 season! But this year we have some significant changes to our screening schedule you should know:

Our film discussions will still be held on the first Thursday evening each month @7pm over Zoom, but (instead of virtually watching the films right before), we’re inviting everyone to join us for IN-PERSON screenings at First Olympia. These will be held downstairs in the chapel after worship (at about 12:30pm to give everyone some time to grab lunch) each Sunday before Thursday club meetings.

For example, our first discussion will be on Thursday, 9/7 so our first screening will be on 9/3. If you’d like email reminders for these dates, or to be added to our club mailing list, please let Lauren know (multimedia@fumcoly.org).

Our September film selection is called Alaskan Nets (2021) and is a documentary about the last native reservation in Alaska, a remote fishing community, and their incredible high school basketball team. Click here to watch the full trailer. If you can't make it in person, the film is currently available to stream on Amazon Prime.

Our screening will be on 9/3 @12:30 at First Olympia. Our Discussion will be over Zoom on 9/7 @7pm. You can RSVP for both of these events here: https://fumcoly.breezechms.com/form/ade98652265897
