Pastor Alexa's Introduction
Hello! I am Rev. Alexa Eisenbarth, but you can call me Pastor Alexa. I know I share a name with the Amazon devices in your homes, but I associate my name with a few other things. Alexa means 'Defender of Humankind,' and my parents named me after Billy Joel's daughter. These two facts about my name tell others a lot about me, I think. Within me is a good mix of principled compassion and the spirit of a rock song everyone can really sing along to.
A graduate of Whitworth University and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, I worked at Orting UMC, which was designated as an innovation site to revitalize an older congregation. I am passionate and knowledgeable about the faith of young adults, as well as re-imagining church for a changing religious landscape.
I am living in West Olympia with my friend, Brittney, and her labradoodle, Luna! I enjoy a good campfire, a TV drama, cooking, and making beautiful things with other people (including church!).
I am so looking forward to serving as First Olympia's Associate pastor, in partnership with Pastor Heather and the rest of the staff and South Sound Co-Op. I can't wait to get to know each one of you!
Blessings,
Pastor Alexa
