Scarf-Bombing Is Back

Fall is here, the weather is getting colder and wetter, and it’s time to begin Scarf-Bombing again! This year we already have a great supply of scarves, hats, and mittens that have been made and given over the summer.

But, with an ever growing demand, our initial stock won’t last us through the winter. If you knit or crochet, think about using up some of your spare yarn on a scarf or two to help keep someone warm.

If you don’t knit or crochet, watch the Courier for Affinity Night events where you can help tag items, cut and fringe fleece (no skills required), and tie scarves out under the portico.

If you know someone who needs a scarf or hat and can’t make it to church themselves, pick one out and deliver it to them. Scarf-bombing at FUMCO began in February of 2024. Since it’s inception, we have given away over 200 scarves to help folks stay warm. The coming winter is predicted to be a very cold and wet season, so we want to keep this ministry going.
