We're Looking For Children's Volunteers
Hello FUMCO Family,
My name is Dawn Morton and I have been a volunteer in our children’s ministry program, Kaleidoscope Kids, for a little over a year now. I’d love to tell you all a little bit about why I love volunteering and pray that you too will volunteer your time to this growing ministry at our church. Miss Brittney has many fun events planned throughout the year that the children in our community look forward to. They enjoy seeing friends, participating in activities, and spending time in a safe and comfortable space. As a volunteer, I have enjoyed the opportunity to participate in many events and can confirm they are well attended and much enjoyed!
I have helped out with Kids Night Out, Family Events, Sunday Morning and Wednesday night education hour and have loved getting to know our young disciples and investing in their lives. A vital part of the children’s ministry program depends on volunteers to meet our Safe Sanctuary standard; which requires 2 adults are present with the children at all times. If we had a larger group of adults to pull from, each of us would only need to volunteer once or twice a month.
Most events are limited to two hours, and volunteers are not required to plan or teach, just to assist Miss Brittney. And if you haven’t noticed – she is well planned and well organized. When you say YES to helping with these events, you will be supporting Miss Brittney by doing things like: Serving dinner, filling popcorn bags for movie nights, coloring at the round tables, helping kids complete a simple craft or monitoring the bounce house. It’s a low key way to volunteer and show up in big ways for the children in our community.
In this season of giving and sharing, I want to encourage you to spend some time with our growing community of young disciples and reap the reward of happy children and thankful hearts. Please seek me out at church for more conversation or contact Miss Brittney.
