On July 20th the South Sound Cooperative Churches gathered for a fun day at the Rainier’s Baseball game. Over 100 local United Methodists were in attendance!

This year was extra special because our Common Ground Choir and Kids Choir sang the National Anthem while wearing their FUMCO shirts that read, “In God’s Love we welcome and affirm ALL people”.  At first, there was disappointment when the choir realized they would have their backs to the crowd while singing. But then, Lay Leader Toni Miklich reminded the group that everyone in the stadium would be able to see our message of love that is printed on the back of the t-shirts.

Imagine, if even one person in the stadium needed to know that they are loved, just as they are, our presence might have changed a life. We never know how or when God is going to use us to lift up another person. Opportunities to witness to God’s love like this are made possible by your generous donations.  You may not have sung in the choir or even attended the game, but your support allows this church to say, “Yes!” when we are invited to events like the Rainier’s Game. Thank you!

Below is the financial information for June and YTD. You might notice a new line item on our financial report. According to our church budget, passed by Church Council, we planned to use $90,000 from a bequest to supplement our income this year. We took the first installment of that money in June.
