Sunday Worship In-person and Streamed Online at 10am

Anti-Racist Film Club

Our October selection is The Book of Life (2014)!

The Book of Life is an animated film written and directed by Jorge Gutierrez. The plot follows two gods of the afterlife, La Muerte and Xibalba, who each sponsor a young boy (Manolo and Joaquin) in love with the same girl for the right to rule the "Land of the Remembered". When the three friends reunite on the Day of the Dead, the gods' wager comes finally into fruition and the fate of San Angel is caught between worlds.

This month, ARFC is partnering with the Children’s Ministry at First Olympia UMC to host a special “family movie night” screening on Sunday, 10/12 @5pm. ALL AGES are invited to come watch the film together*. There will be dinner provided before/during the screening.

Our discussion will be held the next day on Monday, 10/13 @7pm over Zoom.

*If you would prefer not to watch the film with a large amount of children, you can screen the movie at home. It’s streaming on Disney+ and Hulu or to rent on Amazon Prime for less than $5.

If you're interested in either of these events, please RSVP here:

AND A SPECIAL ANNOUCEMENT:
Anti-Racist Film Club Discussions will now be held in a hybrid-style!

This means that there will be an in-person option to attend at First Olympia UMC in the Gathering Place but those who prefer to join us online are still welcome to attend via Zoom. We hope this flexibility will help better connect the members of our wonderful community.
