September UWIF Luncheon
United Women in Faith will celebrate summer's end with, special guests at the luncheon on Wednesday, Sept. 10.
Aimee Khuu, executive director of Tacoma Community House and Carlos Garcia, Director of Youth & Young Adults Services (The REACH Center), will join us to share insights into the multi-faceted programming that supports immigrants, refugees and marginalized youth with language classes, employability skills, immigration assistance and housing. TCH also offers advocacy and support to those harmed by domestic violence and other crimes.
At a time like this, we embrace UWIF (then known as UMW)'s historic ties to Tacoma Community House and these efforts. We welcome all to join us for this important session. Gathering starts at 11 a.m. in the Great Hall, with announcements at 11:30, lunch at noon and the program to follow. Soups and salads will be offered as well as bread and desserts. Reservations are not required; a donation of $3-ish is appreciated. If you have particular dietary requirements, feel free to bring your own food.
